Or just some GM designer's doodles.

When it comes to upcoming models and concept vehicles, most major manufacturers are tight-lipped about their secrets, but some like to show off sketches, renderings and concepts that never were. The GM Design Instagram page is one such place. The account gives fans a behind the scenes look at the work that happens in the General Motors design studio, and one of their latest posts has the internet scratching its head. GM posted an image of an interior designed by Tristan Murphy on Monday, and some of us have a sneaking suspicion that this could have been done with the Chevrolet Camaro in mind.

The post may not specify which GM model this futuristic interior was meant for, but some keen eyes have spotted a version of the Chevy Camaro badge on the rectangular steering wheel. This has led some to speculate about a seventh-generation Camaro. The sixth-generation Chevrolet Camaro is still available on showroom floors despite dismal sales figures. However, GM has previously hinted, albeit very faintly, at an all-electric Camaro. Seeing as competitors like Dodge have already confirmed an all-electric muscle car for 2024, it would only make sense for Chevy to take the plunge with the Camaro. Whether is will be a coupe or an EV muscle sedan, we don't know.

Judging by Murphy's sketch, this interior looks fit for a sports car. The grooved steering wheel with paddle shifters and dashboard layout are all very driver-oriented, and we adore the meaty digital cluster and chunky interior trimmings. Above the steering wheel one can see a head-up display projection showing a speedometer. The center console also gives away a few secrets: we can clearly see a stylized version of GM's push-button gear selector and a landscape-orientated infotainment display that's been tucked into the dashboard. Ford is currently enjoying massive success with its Mustang Mach-E, and with other companies jumping on the EV train, we wouldn't be surprised to see Chevrolet making an announcement regarding a performance EV soon. We just hope whatever they build comes with this awesome interior.
